On this page is where I'll try to illustrate the sort of blessings the Lord has given me. Of course, they're so numerous, I'm sure I'll miss a few. Many of the day-to-day things we take for granted are truly blessings from the Lord. Here goes:

- In a bed.
- My bed is comfortable.
- So is my pillow.
- When I woke up this morning, my wife was beside me.
- For that matter, the house was still here.

- It usually works, too.
- We also have a Suburban.
- It has leather bucket seats and woodgrain interior and captain's chairs and all the other options.
- We could never have afforded a Suburban like that, but we found a used one for $5000 -- just when we needed one.
- My dad let me borrow $5000.
- I know enough about vehicles to keep my two running smoothly.

- I have a shotgun, so my daughters won't have to worry about that sort of peer pressure, either.
- Whenever my family needs something, we have a God we can pray to who gets things done.
- When I die, I have the opportunity to go to Heaven and live with Jesus.
- I can actually choose whether I go to Heaven or Hell by choosing how I live in the here and now. It's all up to me.
- I have angels that protect me and my family. They've saved our bacon quite a few times.
- I have a Heavenly Father that cares enough to send the very best.
Look around in your life. Many of the things we take for granted shouldn't be taken that way. The Bible states that the days of man are like grass (short-lived). We have no promise that we'll live to see tomorrow. Most people assume they will, but you could die any day -- within the next hour, even. Please don't misunderstand - Christianity does not make one perfect. Things will still go wrong. Loved ones will still die, financial and health crisises still happen. Even Christians have bad days. I once saw a bumper sticker that stated: God doesn't promise a smooth ride - only a safe landing. Besides, if you look at your life and try to list the blessings you find, it might help you view things from a different perspective and may even bring you a little closer to God. Try it some time.
