After the Sith Wars, the forces of both the Republic and the Jedi were a shell of their former glory. Thus began the time of rebuilding.
The huge need for ship and equipment production ignited a corporate race of gigantic proportions. As manufacturers attempted to out-bid each other for the Republic's needs, new advancements in ship design and other technologies began to emerge. The bidding war also resulted in lower costs for everyone concerned. In less than a generation, the Galactic Fleet was larger and stronger than ever.
Similarly, the Jedi found new recruits easily and quickly as word of their exploits grew. No longer simple guardians and mediators, the Jedi Order was now known throughout the galaxy as heroes and warriors. Within two generations, the Jedi were larger than at any time in their recorded history.
This age of prosperity would last for nearly a thousand years, until the return of the Sith.
