The Sith War

The Republic was enjoying a time of prosperity. It had been a thousand years since the Great Hyperspace Wars. New star systems were joining the Republic. Commerce was profitable, and the Jedi were strong.

As a new generation of Jedi emerged, one that did not know the dark side, many began to think of such evil as myth. They were soon to be proven wrong, however. Two promising young Jedi, Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun, turned to the Dark Side and attempted to re-create the Sith Empire. Working together as master and apprentice, the two struck out at the galaxy with devastating results. The conflict, now referred to as the Sith War, shattered the feeling of safety that had permeated the Republic - even the Republic capital of Coruscant was besieged.

The end of the war found thousands dead, Ulic Qel-Droma blind to the Force and exiled, his brother Cay Qel-Droma numbered among the dead, the spirit of Exar Kun trapped on Yavin IV, and the feared Mandalorian armies scattered. It was a dark time for the galaxy, but it was over.
