Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma then attempts to destroy the Krath from within, but is seduced by the dark side of the Force. He then joins with the dark Jedi Exar Kun, and both are decreed Dark Lords of the Sith by ancient Sith spirits. The two nearly topple the Republic, and this series of conlicts is now known as the Sith War. The duo is ultimately defeated by the Jedi -- Ulic stripped of the Force and later redeemed, while Kun's spirit is trapped on Yavin IV. It is during this time that such Jedi heroes as Nomi Sunrider and Tott Doneeta emerge. |

The Dark Lord of the Sith Kaan gathers an army of 20,000 Sith warriors and begins to attack the Republic. The Jedi send an equally large army to defeat the Sith, and the two armies converge on the planet Ruusan. Facing defeat, Kaan released an immensely powerful dark side weapon that instantly incinerated both armies, including himself. As a side effect of the energy, the thousands of spirits were trapped on the planet and could not be freed by even the strongest of Jedi. The Jedi Order then built a temple on the planet, and it later became known as the "Valley of the Jedi". The only Sith to escape the carnage was Bane, who went on to reestablish the Sith Order with a rule that there could only be two Sith at a time - a master and an apprentice. Although Bane was not a full Sith himself, he traveled the galaxy and gathered dark side knowledge and power, eventually taking an apprentice. The Sith have since relied on stealth and subterfuge rather than brute force or numbers. Seeing the devastation that lightsaber-wielding armies are capable of, the Jedi decide to keep the construction of lightsabers a carefully-guarded secret, and the widespread use of the technology fades into history. |

Jabba Desilijic Tiure is born, presumably on Nal Hutta. He would later go on to become the galaxy's most reknowned crime boss, referred to as "Jabba the Hutt". Allya, a Jedi exiled from the Order for unknown reasons, crashes on the planet Dathomir, the location of a Republic penal colony. She had several daughters (perhaps from the inmates left on the planet) and taught them the ways of the Force. She also tamed the native rancors and established a rapport between the rancor tribes and her daughters. Their descendants would later maintain a tribal society of rancor-riding, Force-sensitive women called the "witches" of Dathomir. An offshoot of this society is the "nightsisters", a tribe which has twisted the laws left behind by Allya and uses the dark side of the Force. |

Kuat Drive Yards (KDY) buys out several of its competitors and becomes the galaxy's largest and most prosperous shipbuilder. The ruling families decide the Kuat family will always control the company and will be inherited by its members, although this law didn't sit well with some of the more ambitious families. The Jedi training vessel Chu'unthor crashes on the planet Dathomir, and the Jedi rescue party is repulsed by the witches of Dathomir. Yoda negotiates the situation, but the ship and much of its contents are left on the planet. It would later be found by Luke Skywalker, who used the artifacts to assist in rebuilding the Jedi Order. |

With the help of crime boss Jabba the Hutt, the Trade Federation begins arming themselves for the upcoming invasion of Naboo. Darth Maul goes to Coruscant to hunt down the renegade Nemoidian Hath Monchar. During the mission, he kills his first Jedi Master, a Twi'lek named Anoon Bondara. The Jedi are not aware of the murderer's identity. The Trade Federation blockades the planet of Naboo and the resulting political turmoil sees Palpatine elected as Supreme Chancellor of the Senate. The continued existence of the Sith is revealed after Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn is killed by Sith Lord Darth Maul. Anakin Skywalker is accepted into the Jedi Order as the Padawan apprentice of Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the aftermath of the Naboo conflict, Palpatine passes legislation that outlaws all battle and assassin droids. To enforce the law, all droids are reprogrammed with algorithms that prevent the harming of sentient beings. From his position as Supreme Chancellor, Palpatine begins introducing legislation that will eventually bring about his New Order vision. He also begins forging alliances with captains of industry, secretly planning an immense military buildup. |

Lando Calrissian is born. The Jedi Quinlan Vos has his memory wiped after he discovers Palpatine's plans. With full use of the Force, but without knowledge of his Jedi training, he comes dangerously close to the dark side while pursuing his assailants. Borsk Fey'la is born on Kothlis. The Outbound Flight Project is launched. The project is a combined Jedi/Republic effort to explore beyond the unknown regions and perhaps beyond the borders of our galaxy. The fleet is destroyed by the Chiss commander Mitth'raw'nuruodo, but he is then exiled by the Chiss for making a pre-emptive strike, which is forbidden by their reactive rules of engagement. |

The Jedi Padawan Vergere is dispatched on a mission to find the legendary "living" planet Zonama Sekot. She finds the planet, but it is under attack by an unknown race of aliens the inhabitants call the "Far Outsiders". She negotiates a truce with the aliens, giving herself in exchange for the planet's life. She then leaves with the aliens to parts unknown. Later conjecture reveals that this was likely an exploratory force of Yuuzhan Vong. The Republic continues to deteriorate, and the Jedi Order is stretched to its limits to maintain law and order. The Order's numbers continue to dwindle, as Jedi after Jedi is killed in the increasingly lawless galaxy. |

Han Solo is born on Corellia. At a young age, he is orphaned and taken in by a ring of thieves and pickpockets. Commander Wilhuff Tarkin submits his idea of a moon-sized battlestation to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. The station was actually a concept by weapons engineer Raith Sienar, the man who would go on to create Sienar Fleet Systems, the manufacturer of the TIE series of fighters. Palpatine tasked the Geonosians, creators of the infamous battledroids, with creating the actual design. This design would later be combined with the superlaser designed by Bevel Lemelisk to create the Death Star battlestations. Soontir Fel is born on Corellia. |

A seperatist faction led by a former Jedi Master demands that its members secede from the Republic. The faction creates an army of warriors cloned from the bounty hunter Jango Fett. The Republic counters with its own clone army and the Jedi. In the resulting conflict, hundreds of Jedi are killed. This conflict is the first of what will later be called the "Clone Wars". During the conflicts, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine is given power to override the decisions of the Senate. Shmi Skywalker is killed by Sand People on the planet Tattooine. When her son finds out, he is driven mad with rage. He hunts down and slaughters an entire tribe of Sand People. Many believe that this was his first major step towards the dark side and his future destiny. Anakin Skywalker and Padme Naberrie are married. The union later results in twins, but their existence is hidden from their father due to his plummeting descent into the dark side. Mara Jade is born. Early in life, she is kidnapped from her family by agents of Palpatine, and the young girl is raised as the Emperor's Hand. The exiled Chiss commander Mitth'raw'nuruodo, now called simply "Thrawn" by humans, is indoctrinated into the Republic fleet and is privately given the best training the Academy has to offer. Kyle Katarn is born. |

Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, already the most powerful being in the Republic, declares himself Emperor and renames the Republic the Galactic Empire. The majority of his opponents are either executed or flee to other parts of the galaxy. Anakin Skywalker is believed dead after turning to the dark side of the Force, but soon appears at Palpatine's side as the Sith enforcer Darth Vader. Luke and Leia Skywalker are born and are hidden at opposite ends of the galaxy -- Luke on Tattoine and Leia on Alderaan. The Jedi Purge begins, in which Palpatine openly declares the Jedi as traitors and conspirators, and begins summarily executing any and all Jedi. Wedge Antilles is born on Corellia. Corran Horn is born on Corellia. As part of Palpatine's military buildup, the fleet mainstay becomes the new Imperial-class Star Destroyer, and is equipped with the new TIE Fighter designed by Sienar Fleet Systems. Cementing his power as Emperor, Palpatine orders the area once controlled by the Sith Empire, including their homeworld and repository on Korriban, restricted to himself and his dark side adepts. He also begins sending fleets to every major sector of space, thereby quickly quelling any unrest. The automated dreadnought Eye of Palpatine is launched with programming to systematically annihilate a list of bases belonging to the Jedi and other enemies of the Empire, but it is stopped by two Jedi Knights. Although killed in the act, one of the two Jedi, Callista, uses the last of her strength to place her spirit within the computer core. She will later be freed by Luke Skywalker and his students. |

A group of protestors on a Ghorman landing pad are crushed when Wilhuff Tarkin, now a Captain, orders his ship to land despite the protestors. The event was referred to as "The Ghorman Massacre", and began the first rumblings of rebellion within the Empire. It was after this horrid show of Imperial power that many senators began to secretly fund anti-Empire movements. Due to the failure of the Eye of Palpatine, the Emperor creates the Maw Installation, a top-secret research facility devoted to creating Imperial superweapons such as the Death Star and the World Devastators. The planet Caamas is devastated by unknown attackers. The Caamasi race, known throughout the galaxy as peaceful and wise, are nearly rendered extinct. The attack was secretly ordered by Palpatine and was assisted by the Bothans, a fact that would nearly cause war again in forty years or so. After the devastation, several planets establish refugee camps for the remaining Caamasi, including the world Alderaan. Darth Vader negotiates a deal with the Noghri in which the Empire will assist their ecologically damaged planet in exchange for the Noghri's service as assassins and commandoes. The Noghri, who value honor and loyalty above all else, revere Vader as the savior of their planet and gratefully serve him. Unbeknownst to them, however, Vader has already betrayed them -- the Imperial ecology program actually keeps their planet sustained at its current state, thereby ensuring the Noghri's continued service. |

By this point in time, Palpatine is now firmly in power as Emperor. Most of the Jedi are dead, and the vast majority of Jedi artifacts are destroyed. All holos regarding the Jedi or depicting the Empire in a negative light are outlawed, but still thrive on the black market. Many of the remaining senators and military officers who are still loyal to the ideas of the Republic began to retire or disappear. All information regarding the Naboo, and thus the pasts of both Palpatine and Vader, are purged from the databanks. The Naboo themselves become strangely quiet, and the system is quarantined. The exact fates of the Naboo and the Gungans is unknown. |

It is believed that Palpatine learned how to transfer his consciousness into another body after killing the Jedi Master Ashka Boda and capturing his Jedi Holocron. At this point in time, Palpatine has cloned several copies of himself, and jumps into another body for the first time. This process would then keep him alive as the dark side of the Force ravaged one body after another. |

An Imperial research facility on Falleen accidentally lets loose a contaminant they were working on. To prevent the spread of the virus, Darth Vader orders an orbital bombardment of the city, killing over two hundred thousand Falleen, including the family of Prince Xizor. Xizor is away on Black Sun business at the time, but when he hears about it, he swears vengeance on Vader. To prevent his implication, he orders all information regarding the incident erased. Kyp Durron is born in the Deyer colony in the Anoat system. |

As rebellion and protest increase throughout the galaxy, Moff Tarkin approaches Palpatine with the "Tarkin Doctrine", which proposes ruling by fear. Through this doctrine, it is decided that a few carefully selected "examples" will be made of high-profile incidents. Because of its success, Tarkin is made the first Grand Moff and is placed in charge of the Death Star project, a program very similar to the ideals of his doctrine. |

Three former senators of the Republic, Garm Bel Iblis, Bail Organa, and Mon Mothma, meet on the planet Corellia and sign the Corellian Treaty. This treaty unites the various rebel factions and creates "The Alliance to Restore the Republic". To combat the propaganda of the Empire, Mon Mothma creates the "Declaration of Rebellion", a document which declares the Alliance's intentions and lists various atrocities committed by Palpatine and the Empire. The Alliance's vast intelligence network is able to disperse the document throughout the galaxy, and many hundreds of worlds join the new Alliance. Several worlds declare open rebellion but are quieted by Imperial forces. The damage had been done, however. The Galactic Civil War had begun. In response to the new Alliance, Palpatine orders a military buildup the likes of which the galaxy has never seen. Many research projects are given a higher priority, including the Advanced TIE Fighter, the Death Star, and the Super-class Star Destroyer. The Alliance is supplied with Incom T-65 X-Wings, and the fighter quickly becomes the mainstay of the fleet. It is supplemented shortly thereafter by the A-Wing, a fast "hit-and-run" fighter. |

The Death Star goes online. Its first test is to destroy the planet Despayre. Princess Leia Organa is abducted by Darth Vader and held prisoner aboard the new Death Star. In an attempt to force her to reveal the location of the Alliance base, Tarkin orders her homeworld of Alderaan destroyed by the Death Star. Refusing to reveal the base, she stands helplessly by as Alderaan is destroyed by the station's superlaser. She is rescued by smuggler Han Solo and future Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker. The two are assisted by Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, who dies in a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader. The group is allowed to escape and a tracking device planted aboard Solo's ship leads the Death Star to the Alliance base on Yavin IV. As the Death Star lines up to destroy the moon, a small Alliance fleet attacks and manages to destroy the station. Only two fighters survived, including Luke Skywalker, the Force-sensitive pilot who fired the deciding shot. Dubbed as "The Battle of Yavin", the event is considered a turning point in the war, and many more worlds join the Alliance. A propaganda war ensues between the Alliance and the Empire over the destruction of Alderaan. The Alliance ultimately wins by releasing holo footage from a satellite of the Death Star destroying the planet. In retaliation for the destruction of the Death Star, the Empire blockades the Yavin system and makes at least two unsuccessful attempts to capture the Alliance base on Yavin IV. After several months of blockade, Darth Vader arrives in the new Super-class Star Destroyer Executor, but the majority of Alliance forces are able to escape the blockade. Several Alliance members are captured, including General Jan Dodonna. |

Alliance forces begin jumping from system to system as their main base on Hoth is being excavated and built. Kyle Katarn, a mercenary working for the Alliance, brings about the destruction of the Empire's "Dark Trooper" project. Construction begins on the Death Star II, a larger version of the infamous battlestation. It is constructed in orbit around the forest moon of Endor. Wedge Antilles and Luke Skywalker, the only two survivors of the Battle of Yavin, form Rogue Squadron -- an elite squadron of crack X-Wing pilots. The group soon begins to take on high-profile missions for the Allliance. |

The Emperor raises taxes throughout the galaxy, claiming that the continued attacks by the Alliance are forcing him to. Many are led to believe that the funds are meant for disaster relief, but in reality, the funds are going to projects like the Death Star II. From this point forward, taxes would continue to increase gradually. Palpatine starts placing his Grand Vizier, Sate Pestage, in charge of the day-to-day affairs of the Empire as Palpatine starts compiling his "Dark Side Compendium", a book of Sith knowledge. While on a diplomatic mission, Luke and Leia crash on the planet Mimban and discover the Kaiburr crystal, a stone that enhances one's ability to use the Force. Darth Vader arrives to find the crystal and ends up dueling with Luke. In a stroke of luck, Luke slices off Vader's arm in the process and manages to escape. The crystal then loses its powers when taken away from Mimban. Assumably because of the events on Mimban, Vader becomes obsessed with finding Luke and begins investing massive amounts of resources into the search. It is during this search that Vader learns of Luke's last name, and he realizes that Luke is his son. Knowing this only seems to increase his obsession. The existence of the Executor is made public at an unveiling ceremony attended by the Emperor. The Alliance base on Hoth goes online, and Alliance forces begin moving into it. |

The Empire continues to send out thousands of probe droids in an attempt to locate the new Alliance base. One such droid lands on Hoth and relays video of a shield generator back to the Executor. Confident that the location is accurate, Vader launches an all-out assault on Hoth. Although most of the Alliance forces again escape, many are killed or captured, and the event becomes known as "The Battle of Hoth". Alliance leaders Han Solo and Leia Organa are soon captured on Bespin, and Solo is frozen in carbonite and turned over to the bounty hunter Boba Fett. While attempting to rescue his friends, Luke Skywalker has another duel with Vader on Bespin. This time, it is Luke who loses a hand and his lightsaber but manages to escape. It is during this duel that Vader reveals his relationship with Luke. As a result of Lando Calrissian's aide to the Alliance, Cloud City on Bespin is taken over by an Imperial garrison. After several months, Han Solo is presumed dead by the Alliance, but his friends continue to mount rescue efforts. Encouraged by the recent victories over the Alliance, Palpatine commissions the construction of the first Eclipse-class Star Destroyer, an immense ship even bigger than the Super-class ships. Still attempting to rescue Han Solo, the Alliance attempts to buy information from the criminal organization Black Sun. Prince Xizor, master of Black Sun, attempts to use the rescue attempts to discredit Darth Vader by having Luke Skywalker killed. In the end, Boba Fett delivers the still-frozen Solo to Jabba the Hutt on Tattooine, and Vader kills Prince Xizor, effectively destroying the Black Sun crime syndicate. |

Alliance heroes Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 all arrive on Tattooine to rescue Han Solo. After Solo is freed from the carbonite, Luke is thrown into a pit with Jabba's rancor but manages to kill the beast. An enraged Jabba attempts to throw them all into the Sarlacc Pit out in the desert, but the resulting escape finds Jabba dead, Boba Fett believed dead after falling in the Sarlacc, and Han Solo officially rescued. The group then returns to the Alliance forces gathering at Sullust. In a daring attack at Endor, Alliance forces manage to destroy the Death Star II after disabling its shield generator on the forest moon. The event is dubbed (you guessed it) "The Battle of Endor". After the destruction of the Executor, the Death Star, and many of the Empire's Star Destroyers, Gilad Pellaeon assumes command of the Star Destroyer Chimaera and organizes a retreat back to Imperial space. The Alliance forces are left with seventy-five percent of their fleet inoperative, but have effectively won the war. During the "Battle of Endor", Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader duel in front of the Emperor in an attempt by Palpatine to turn the young man to the dark side of the Force. The attempt fails, and Palpatine is betrayed by Vader and thrown into a reactor shaft. Vader dies shortly thereafter, redeemed in the Force. Luke manages to escape the station before its destruction in a stolen Imperial shuttle. The disembodied consciousness of Palpatine begins its journey towards Byss. The journey would exhaust his power in the dark side and nearly kill Palpatine. Upon sensing the death of Palpatine, Grand Vizier Sate Pestage assumes command of the Empire. He is assisted in this endeavor by the head of Imperial Intelligence, Ysanne Isard. As news of the Emperor's death spreads, Imperial forces withdraw from many locations, often looting and destroying facilities lest the Alliance captures them. Multiple riots and acts of sabotage begin to occur on Coruscant as the planet's population attempt to destroy symbols of Palpatine's power. As the Empire collapses, factions of it began to withdraw to the Core Worlds and amass power for themselves. Many of these are Moffs and Admirals who maintain the loyalty of their fleets. The Alliance forms the "New Republic" and forms a provisional council to lead the new government. They soon begin cementing their power by liberating various systems and worlds from Imperial forces. As their power base grows, the New Republic begins devising a strategy for taking Coruscant... |

The New Republic is formally established as the new government, and Mon Mothma is elected as the first Chief-of-State. The members of Rogue Squadron, particularly Tycho Celchu, begin making reconnaissance runs on Coruscant in preparation for the retaking of the planet. |

After participating in several long and exhausting military campaigns against Imperial fringe groups, Luke Skywalker resigns from the New Republic military. Although he is no longer active, he will retain the honorary rank of "Commander". Grand Admiral Grant, incorrectly believed to be the last living Grand Admiral, surrenders to the New Republic in exchange for immunity and a peaceful retirement. |

In a heated battle, the New Republic manages to capture Coruscant from the Imperial forces left there. The battle is long and destructive, but the Imperial forces end up fleeing the planet. Isanne Ysard flees in the Lusankya, a Super-class Star Destroyer that was buried under Coruscant's surface. In doing so, much of the area around the Imperial Palace is left in ruins. After the capture of Coruscant, many other heavily-populated Core Worlds surrender to the New Republic fleet. Princess Leia Organa begins negotiations to ally with the powerful Hapes Cluster. |

By this point in time, the New Republic now controls roughly fifty percent of the galaxy. Corran Horn and Mirax Terrik are wed aboard the newly captured Lusankya. Mara Jade joins the smuggling operation of Talon Karrde. Having successfully negotiated an alliance with the Hapes Cluster, the New Republic recieves a visit from the Hapan Queen and her son. The Hapan prince, Isolder, falls in love with Leia and proposes to seal the negotiations with their wedding. To prevent this, Han Solo kidnaps Leia and rushes her off to Dathomir, a planet which he won the deed to in a sabacc game. Isolder and Luke Skywalker pursue them, and the entire group becomes involved in a civil war between the two factions of "witches" on Dathomir. The "witches" are, in fact, Force-sensitives who are descended from an exiled Jedi. Isolder decides instead to marry one of the Dathomirian women, and Han and Leia are wed on Coruscant. During the final conflict on Dathomir, Luke Skywalker is mortally wounded but somehow taps into the Force on an extreme level, healing his body completely and quickly turning the tide of the battle. Although the effect does not last, it does leave him with a heightened ability to use the Force. The New Republic loses much of its fleet while taking the Kuat system from the Imperial warlord Teradoc. The New Republic officially moves its seat of government to the planet of Coruscant. |

By this point in time, the New Republic controls roughly seventy-five percent of the galaxy. Imperial forces led by Grand Admiral Thrawn begin to attack member systems of the New Republic. To enlist him in his campaign, Thrawn garners the assistance of the insane Jedi Master Joruus C'baoth. C'baoth is a clone of the original Jedi Master, and guards the Emperor's vaults on Wayland. In exchange for his help, the clone demands that Thrawn deliver Luke Skywalker and the unborn Solo twins to him so that he can train them in the ways of the dark side. Using technology found at Wayland, Thrawn creates a clone prototype that combines his best warrior with his own tactical genius. The template for this experiment is Grodin Tierce, a member of the Imperial Royal Guard. When the real Tierce is killed while on routine stormtrooper duty, the clone begins to believe himself the original, and is classified as mentally unstable. Leia Organa-Solo locates the homeworld of Thrawn's Noghri commandoes. Recognizing her by scent as the daughter of Darth Vader, the Noghri pass their honor-debt to her. She then reveals Vader's treachery and assists the Noghri in the true reclamation of their planet, an act which further tightens their loyalty to her. Even so, they take to calling her "Lady Vader". Jacen and Jaina Solo are born. The second "Battle of Coruscant" takes place as Thrawn cuts a path to the capital and begins to pummel the New Republic defenses. The battle goes poorly for the New Republic until Thrawn is killed by his Noghri bodyguard. After the death of Thrawn, the Noghri officially join the New Republic. Upon hearing the news of Thrawn's defeat, Palpatine (now resurrected in a clone body but still weak) begins to contact the upper echelons of the Imperial Remnant and gather his forces. After returning to Imperial space with most of Thrawn's surviving forces, Captain Gilad Pellaeon is promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral. |

Still recovering from the campaign by Thrawn, the New Republic is taken aback as Imperial forces begin making aggressive attacks on Core systems. The attacks seem to be originating from within the Core Worlds, deep within Imperial space. The attacks continue until the New Republic government is forced to evacuate the capital city of Coruscant. As Imperial forces led by General Balan attempt to secure their hold on Coruscant, they are attacked by another, larger Imperial force that quickly takes the planet. At the time, the origin of these forces is unknown. Attempts by the New Republic to retake Coruscant end in disaster. Luke Skywalker is captured by Imperial forces and taken to the Imperial world of Byss. There he learns that the Emperor has resurrected himself in a clone body, and Skywalker decides that the only way to permanently defeat Palpatine is to learn the secrets of the dark side. With Luke at his side and new superweapons like the World Devastators and the Galaxy Gun, Palpatine begins his master plan to retake the galaxy. Anakin Solo is born. The New Republic's base on New Pinnacle is destroyed by the Galaxy Gun. Already defeated once by the Jedi when Leia helped turn Luke back from the dark side, Palpatine is again defeated by Jedi when he attempts to transfer his consciousness into the body of newborn Anakin Skywalker. This time he is disincorporated permanently when he accidentally jumps into the dying body of Jedi Knight Empatojayos Brand. Carnor Jax, a former member of the Imperial Royal Guard, assumes control of the Imperial Remnants after Palpatine's death. After several months of power, he is killed in combat by fellow guardsman Kir Kanos. As the galaxy begins to settle from the renewed conflict, Luke Skywalker begins plans to construct a Jedi Academy on Yavin IV. Wishing to see the Jedi return as guardians of the galaxy, Mon Mothma offers assistance from the New Republic. Kyp Durron is discovered on Kessel by Han Solo and ends up at Luke's new Jedi Academy. Before escaping the Kessel system, the group is captured by Admiral Daala, a female officer in charge of the top-secret Maw Installation. By interrogating Han, Daala becomes aware of the fall of the Empire, a situation she was completely unaware of. She begins a brief campaign against the New Republic, but is defeated and forced to limp her way towards what's left of Imperial space. After a few months of study at the new Jedi Academy on Yavin IV, a student named Gantoris frees the spirit of Exar Kun. Kun eventually kills Gantoris and seduces Kyp Durron to the dark side. Kyp's dark side rampage across the galaxy ends with at least two systems destroyed, including Carridan, home of the Imperial Academy. |

The automated dreadnought Eye of Palpatine is boarded by Luke in an attempt to stop its rampage across the galaxy. While on board, he meets and falls in love with the disembodied consciousness of a Jedi Knight named Callista. Tahiri Veila is born to moisture farmers on Tattooine. |

Daala has united the remnants of the Empire (by murdering all of the various warlords) and begins a new campaign against the New Republic. After destroying several colonies and devastating the planet Khomm, she assaults the Jedi Academy on Yavin IV but is ultimately defeated by the Jedi students based there. After the defeat, she resigns her commission and hands the fleet over to Vice Admiral Pellaeon. Dorsk 81 is killed while throwing Daala's fleet away from Yavin IV. At the same time as Daala's renewed campaign against the New Republic, Intelligence operatives led by Crix Madine must also find and infiltrate "Darksaber", a prototype of the Death Star superlaser being constructed by Durga the Hutt. Madine and his entire team are killed during the attempt, but are successful in destroying the weapon. Upon returning to the Imperial Remnant, Pellaeon helps form a new Ruling Council to govern what's left of the Galactic Empire. One of the council's first acts is to promote him to the rank of full Admiral and make him Supreme Commander of the Fleet. Over the next few months, Pellaeon and the united Imperial fleet would have several small skirmishes with the New Republic as the Imperial Remnant expands its borders. After the destruction of Khomm, Dorsk 82 arrives to begin training at the Jedi Academy. |

Leia Organa-Solo, now Chief-of-State of the New Republic, begins negotiations with a race called the Yvetha. Unbeknownst to her, the Yvetha are secretly harboring a fleet stolen from the Empire and plan to purge their system of any colonists and non-Yvethans. When the Republic attempts to stop the wholesale slaughter of thousands, the Yvethan declare war on the New Republic. An entire fleet is sent into Yvethan space but captured due to an advance warning from one of Leia's political opponents. Han Solo led the fleet and is nearly killed while being tortured by the Yvethans, but is finally rescued by a Wookie strike team led by Chewbacca. The Yvethans are defeated and quarantined to their system. The fleet is then absorbed into the New Republic military. A new model of X-Wing, the T-65D-A1, is introduced to the New Republic military. The fighter boasts better armament, shields, and firepower, and no longer requires an astromech droid. Wedge Antilles, now a General, orders all X-Wings replaced with the newer model. |

The New Republic is stunned as X-Wing fighters and droids began to self-destruct throughout the galaxy. In the most horrendous incident, the entire Senate on Coruscant is destroyed by self-destructing droids. Nearly every senator killed in the incident belong to the older generation that saw the rise and fall of the Empire. This incident would leave an enormous power vacuum in the Senate for years to come. The man behind the attacks is found to be a former student of Luke Skywalker's named Dolph, and he is killed by Leia Organa-Solo in defense of her brother. Leia Organa-Solo steps down as Chief-of-State of the New Republic. |

Admiral Pelleon convinces the Moffs of the Imperial Remnant that it is time to make peace with the New Republic, but one of the Moffs has a different idea - he creates an elaborate scheme that causes many to believe that Grand Admiral Thrawn has returned. The scheme is largely made possible through the knowledge of the cloned Grodin Tierce. The plot begins to unite the Empire but is ultimately defeated when the fake Thrawn, a con-man named Flim, is exposed by Pellaeon. Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade profess their love for each other while uncovering information about the "Hand of Thrawn". Mara decides to leave Karrde's organization and become a full Jedi Knight after marrying Luke. Corran Horn resigns from Rogue Squadron and becomes a full-time Jedi Knight. After the historic peace treaty with the Imperial Remnant is signed, many high-ranking officers of the New Republic retire. Among these are Admiral Ackbar and General Wedge Antilles. At the urging of friends and family, Leia Organa-Solo runs for and is again elected as Chief-of-State of the New Republic. |

Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade are married on Coruscant. The marriage symbolizes to many the merging of Jedi, New Republic, and Empire and brings an air of hope to the galaxy. With all known enemies contained or at peace, the New Republic begins to down-size its military in order to cut back on operating costs. Luke Skywalker initiates the pairing of full Jedi with apprentices, much like the Padawans of the Old Republic. The Jedi Academy on Yavin IV becomes a training facility for young Force-sensitives who have not yet been apprenticed. |

The Yuuzhan Vong begin their invasion of the galaxy. It is revealed that Vong scouting parties have been in our galaxy for nearly 60 years. Over the next year, the Vong and their organic technology will devastate New Republic forces, and the aliens will destroy world after world. Chewbacca is killed when one of Sernpidal's moons crashes into the planet. Chewbacca and the Solos were on the planet rescuing refugees. The Yuuzhan Vong capture many worlds, including Obroa-Skai, the site of the galaxy's largest library. The world Ithor, reknowned for its harmony with nature, is rendered lifeless by a Vong bacteria. Jedi Knight Corran Horn accepts blame for the event and enters into self-exile. The Jedi Academy on Yavin IV is destroyed by a Vong invasion force. Jedi Master Ikrit is killed in the attack, and Tahiri Veila is partially programmed into a Yuuzhan Vong warrior. When Anakin Solo rescues her, rumors began among the Vong slave castes that the Jedi might be their redemption. |

The New Republic convinces the Hapan Consortium to assist them in their fight against the Yuuzhan Vong. The Hapans commit the vast majority of their sizeable forces towards a battle occuring at Fondor. Centerpoint Station in the Corellian System is reactivated by Anakin Skywalker. The massive weapon is able to fire anywhere in the known galaxy with destructive results. Convinced by his brother not to fire on the Yuuzhan Vong fleet at Fondor, the weapon is instead fired by Thracken Sal-Solo and instantly vaporizes half of the Vong fleet and over two-thirds of the Hapan fleet at Fondor. Even at such a high cost, Sal-Solo is heralded as the Hero of the Battle of Fondor. The Yuuzhan Vong warmaster Tsavong Lah is severly wounded in combat by Jacen Solo on Duros. Afterwards, the Vong issue an ultimatum to the galaxy - turn over every Jedi or die. Many individuals have little hope that the New Republic will win, and begin to comply whenever possible. |

Anakin Solo is killed while leading a Jedi strike team to destroy the voxyn, a creature bio-engineered by the Vong to hunt down and kill Jedi. Most of the team is killed as well, and Jacen Solo is captured by the Vong. The voxyn queen, however, was killed as well, deeming the mission a success. The Yuuzhan Vong attack and successfully take Coruscant. The Palace grounds and much of the Senate are destroyed by Chief-of-State Borsk Fey'la. The act successfully destroyed any databanks containing state secrets and also eliminated a sizeable Vong force. Before doing so, Fey'la handed command of the New Republic to the military, and New Republic forces fled throughout the galaxy. |

The New Republic military, now led by General Wedge Antilles, regroups and leads a massive Yuuzhan Vong fleet to its destruction. The devastation of their largest fleet and the death of the warmaster's father lead many Vong to believe that they have lost favor with their gods. This demoralizing belief will spread throughout Vong society and eventually result in their downfall. Forfeiting the legitimate government of the New Republic, Antilles and the other remaining heroes of the Galactic Civil War form their own government and begin massing the former New Republic military to their banner. The new government is deemed the Galactic Alliance, and swiftly begins to win decisive victories against the Vong invasionary forces. On Coruscant, now being converted into the new Vong homeworld, Jacen Solo is trained in Vong philosphy by Vergere, a former Jedi Knight from the time of the Old Republic. Jacen's experiences grant him fresh insight into the Force, and he returns with the shocking revelation that there is no light or dark side to the Force. |

In a trap devised by the aging Admiral Ackbar, Galactic Alliance forces again lead a large Vong fleet into a trap, this time resulting in the death of the Warmaster himself. In the underbelly of Coruscant, exiled Vong fugitive Nom Anor begins a new life as "the Prophet" leading a cult that merges Jedi beliefs with Vong religion. As the cult grows and begins to take on a life of its own, Anor sees it as a way to regain his lost position. The cult's primary effect, however, is to add a major thorn in the side of the Vong emperor, Shimrra, who is already trying to cover their increasing losses in the war. The cult will eventually provide a way for Vong to exist in their new galaxy alongside other races. Galactic Alliance forces assist the Imperial Remnant in repelling a Vong invasionary fleet, and also repel an attempted coup on the Chiss homeworld. These two events will eventually lead to both the Imperial Remnant and the Chiss joining the Alliance. |
